RE: Florida RV Parks

If you're considering the Vero Beach/Ft. Pierce area, I know of an unlisted resort on A1A that will have room for you. PM me for more info if interested.

RE: Extra insurance on your "empty for 6 months" house?

We are also sunbirds. The solution for us is to have a full timer couple live in our home during the summer. This is a win-win for both of us.

RE: Comments on Port st Lucie

Treasure Coast is great except there is no shade if that is important to you. Sorry for being a bit off topic.

RE: How are you and your RV during these times?

Spent the whole summer in Cape May. When we left there Saturday, gasoline was $3.12, diesel $3.99. On the way home filled up with diesel in southern VA for $3.87.
Seasonal CG in Cape Nay was about $2800.
I'm OK with these numbers.

RE: c-7 oil capacity

My 05 KAL engine with the shallow pan and side breather takes 19 qts. with a filter change. Slobber tube doesn't drip.

RE: Campgrounds in or near St Lucie Florida

Treasure Coast is a wonderful CG. But, the OP stated a preference for shade.
River Ranch is also a great resort. I go there every January. It is about an hour and a half from Ft. Pierce and doesn't have WiFi

Outdoor Resorts in Melbourne Beach is the one I had in mind. I agree with your opinion.
Have you ever stayed in Ocean Resorts? If not, give it a try.

RE: Campgrounds in or near St Lucie Florida

If price were no object, I'd stay at Ocean Resorts which is directly on A1A between Ft.Pierce and Vero Beach. Very large sites compared to Outdoor Resorts.
Ocean Resorts has a full marina, 180,000 gallon heated and cooled pool, 1000 feet of private beach, library, Post Office, tennis courts, clubhouse and etc.
This resort is NOT listed in any camping directory !!
For sales or rental info, it is necessary to obtain a listing sheet from the dispenser at the front gate.
Besides, the OP requested St. Lucie, which isn't close to Melbourne Beach were Outdoor Resorts is located :):)

OK, American has no shade.
I think you should investigate the Road Runner Travel Resort. (800) 833-7108. Trailer life rated 8-9.5-8, monthly rate special available. Plenty of shade and a good restaurant.

RE: Post Withdrawn

That IR RV is fantastic is supposed to be a well kept secret. We don't want too many people to find out because then us locals won't be able to schedule service there.

Which side of town do you prefer?
Would you like oceanfront or shade?
There are more CG's in addition to those already mentioned.

Wife hated the 2000 and had me sell it on eBay. She prefers shelves where the W/D used to be installed.

RE: Changing air filter on Cat C-7 engine

Its a walk in the park...
Cover batteries well
Loosen the hose clamps.
Using a 90 degree tool, unstick the hoses from the nipples.
A cotter key removal tool will do this task nicely.
Lift the inlet hose and tie it up out of the way.
Loosen the 2 main filter housing retaining clamps.
Pull the filter housing aft and out of the outlet hose
Apply silicone spray to the 2 hose inside surfaces.
Place the new filter into position while aligning the outlet filter nipple into the new filter.
Secure the filter retaining clamps.
Install the air inlet hose.
Tighten all hose clamps.
Reset the air filter inlet pressure gauge.
Remove the temporary battery cover.
Log the date and mileage.
